Message from Honorable Vice-Chancellor
(June 2025 Issue)
It is a matter of great pride to see CMTHS bringing out the Himalayan Tourism magazine on the theme Spirituality and Wellness. The Himalayas, revered as the abode of peace and prosperity, have always inspired seekers, travelers, and communities with their profound spiritual and healing essence. In today’s fast-paced world, where stress and uncertainty often impact daily life, the Himalayas remind us of balance, harmony, and the timeless bond between humanity and nature. Their sacred landscapes, ancient traditions, and holistic practices such as yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, continue to attract visitors from across the world in search of renewal and well-being.
This issue of the magazine not only celebrates these unique dimensions of Himalayan tourism but also reflects on our responsibility to preserve the fragile ecosystem and cultural heritage of the region. True wellness lies in nurturing both people and the planet, and the Himalayas offer us valuable lessons in this regard.
I congratulate the CMTHS team for their dedicated efforts and thoughtful vision. I am confident that the magazine will inspire readers to engage with Himalayan tourism in ways that are both meaningful and sustainable.

Message from Editor in Chief
(June 2025 Issue)
In this issue of Himalayan Tourism, we explore the important and timeless theme of Spirituality and Wellness. The Himalayas have long attracted seekers, saints, sages, and pilgrims; they are sacred places that support the inner journey of self-discovery, healing, and peace.
As more people look toward holistic well-being, interest in spiritual and wellness tourism is on the rise. However, this rush can often dilute the true essence of such travel. Wellness and spirituality are deeply personal, transformative experiences based on simplicity, silence, and a connection with nature and oneself. It is crucial, now more than ever, to maintain the original purpose behind this journey. Instead of turning spiritual destinations into commercial centers, we should approach them with respect, care, and understanding.
The Himalayan villages have great potential for authentic spiritual and wellness tourism. These communities, with their slow way of life, traditional knowledge, organic lifestyles, and untouched natural surroundings, can serve as sanctuaries for mindful travelers. If these models are supported thoughtfully, they can empower local people, preserve cultural heritage, and offer visitors something far more valuable than luxury, a return to authenticity.
Through the pages of this issue, we encourage you to think about what wellness truly means and how spirituality rooted in place, culture, and sincerity, can provide answers to many modern challenges. Let us move forward not with the goal to exploit but to uplift and preserve the sacred offerings of this land.
